Visitors to a Keighley shopping centre enjoyed a touch of glamour when they were treated to a fashion show and makeovers during a special Easter event.
Families mingled with models and dancers at the Airedale Shopping Centre during Straight off the Catwalk, when models showcased new season trends available at its stores.
Models displaying the latest looks included Dani McLaren, a dancer and model who has performed alongside Rhianna during TV’s Brit Awards as well as dancing with Ronan Keating, David Hasselhoff and former Spice Girls Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton.
The event, on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, proved extremely popular with shoppers able to see latest spring and summer styles from big name and smaller stores including Marks and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins, Peacocks and Beales.
Beauty advice and makeovers were also on offer as well as Easter craft workshops for the centre’s younger visitors.
Mum of two Shaida Saleem, from Keighley, enjoyed a spot of pampering, while her two boys Reyhin, six and Fazaan, three, pupils at Victoria Primary School, were kept busy making Easter hats.
“I’ve had my hair curled and my nails painted and the fashion show was really good,” she said. “It’s lovely to be pampered and the boys have loved getting involved in the arts and crafts.
“We didn’t know about this event, we just came along to do some shopping, but it was a lovely surprise.”
Little Elizabeth Gatenby, eight and her sister Amelia, five, who attend Steeton Primary School in Keighley, loved watching the fashion show, according to nan Kate Jenkins.
“The girls really enjoyed it as they love fashion and were fascinated watching the makeovers too,” said Kate, from Keighley, who was shopping at the centre with her daughter Emma Gatenby and mother-in-law Dorothy Jenkins.
Airedale Shopping Centre manager Steve Seymour enjoyed hosting the event. “Our fashion shows provide a great opportunity for the people of Keighley, and beyond, to see the new styles that are coming into our stores for the summer season.
“Events like this bring a real buzz to the centre as there is something for everyone and it’s a great way for families to start the Easter holidays.”
