A WARRINGTON vet surgery has been named in the top 25 best practices in the UK thanks to five star ratings from pet owners.

Beech House Veterinary Centre, which is part of Willows Veterinary Group, has seen its excellent care and customer service recognised in Vet Help Direct’s annual ‘Best UK Vets’ awards.

Vet Help Direct, which is an independent vet reviewing platform and directory website, has had 174 reviews left online for the Wilderspool Causeway surgery giving it an overall maximum rating of five stars.

A delighted practice manager Sarah Cunningham says making the top 25 list is a proud achievement because the rankings are based on direct reviews from clients.

Cat owner Julie Morandini-Rose has paid tribute to the ‘fantastic’ staff at Beech House, adding that it came as no surprise to her that the practice which she has been using for 15 years was named as one of the best.

Beech House is part of the Willows Veterinary Group which offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise through a network of 25 small animal practices, a referral veterinary hospital, two equine centres and a seven-office farm practice, located across Cheshire and into Greater Manchester, North Wales, the Wirral and Staffordshire.

Sarah Cunningham, who has been a veterinary nurse for Willows Veterinary Group, which runs Beech House for 28 years, said: “It’s great acknowledgment for us, particularly because it’s based on independent reviews from clients.

“It’s a reward for everyone and I’m very proud. We put client care at the foremost of what we do so it’s nice to get recognition.

“We’ve got a big team here at Beech House. We’ve got six vets, five qualified nurses, eight trainee nurses, an office manager and six receptionists.

“A lot of people have been here for a long time so there is a lot of experience. We have clients coming to us from all over the country, from as far as Scotland, the Isle of Man and Devon.

“We provide a lot of specialist services such as orthopaedics, working with specific breeds like the Shar Pei, and breeding bitches where we do caesareans and reproduction work. We get a lot of vets ringing us up for advice.”

Retired Mrs Morandini-Rose, who lives in Great Sankey, has two 19-year-old cats called Leo and Sam who need regular treatment at Beech House.

She has always recommended the practice to members of the public in her previous roles as a licensee and Cheshire Dogs Home worker, and it came as no shock to her to see the centre named in the top 25 best UK vets.

Mrs Morandini-Rose said: “I’m not surprised at all. I’ve had many, many cats over the years, three of which lived until they were 22 and Beech House have always been fantastic for me. They really helped me with my beautiful cat Woody who unfortunately died last year but he was 19 and they helped me give him the best of care and the best life.

“Everyone is so friendly. I know all the staff and we have a laugh, they’re so helpful.
“If I have an emergency they always find a way to push me in. They’re a very good team.

“They’re the best vet for me, they are superb. I’ve never had to complain about anything which says it all.”

Sarah Cunningham added: “We’ve known Julie a long time, which is why we call her by her first name.

“She’s like many of our clients  you do become quite attached to them and their pets which is one of the most pleasant and rewarding things about our job.”
