Youngsters can grab an Elfie photo with Santa at Warrington’s Golden Square Shopping Centre this Christmas.
Santa’s sleigh, driven by his Elf Chauffeur, will be touring the centre from December 5 and every weekend throughout the month, then up until December 23.
The sleigh will stop outside Debenhams, where youngsters can hop aboard to have their photo taken with Santa himself.
To ensure that everybody has their chance to meet Santa, families will need to book their free photo opportunity with his team of helpers, who will be based at the Sleigh Stop outside Debenhams.
The visit by Santa is part of a host of Christmas entertainment laid on by Golden Square, which began with the big lights switch on by children’s TV star Justin Fletcher.
The Old Market Square has been transformed into a Christmas Village, selling a wide range of presents and festive foods right up until December 23, including a Warrington Wolves stand, with surprise visits by players.
Plus there are Christmas lantern workshops on December 5 and a lantern parade on December 10.
Father Christmas is hoping to meet as many youngsters as possible before he has to head back to his wintery workshops at the North Pole so will be in Golden Square on Saturday December 5, from 11am to noon, 1pm to 2pm and 3pm to 4pm.
He will then return at the same times for Sunday December 6 and the following weekend, December 12 and 13. From Saturday December 19 he will be at Golden Square every day until Wednesday December 23.
Golden Square Shopping Centre director Ian Cox said: “We are honoured that Father Christmas is able to spend so much time with us in the run up to what must be the busiest time of the year both for him and for us at Golden Square.
“The centre will make a fabulous circuit for his elves to tour in this incredible sleigh and I’m sure our younger visitors will love climbing aboard to meet the man himself and take a picture.
“The arrival of Father Christmas in Warrington really does mean the countdown to Christmas is well underway. The Christmas Village in the Old Market Square has doubled in size from last year, with delicious seasonal food and gift ideas , and it is proving very popular.
“In addition, we’re all looking forward to the Christmas Lantern workshop on December 5 and the parade on December 10.”
Golden Square is open late every Thursday until 9pm with free parking after 4pm, plus all day Sundays.
