A summer of free fun is on offer for families at Church Square Shopping Centre in St Helens.
The centre is inviting youngsters to come along to the popular Shopper Whopper Kid’s Club, held every Tuesday from July 26 to August 30.
Starting at 11am and running until 3pm in St Mary’s Arcade, the free club offers craft workshops where children can allow their imaginations to run free and create a variety of artworks to take away with them.
Church Square Shopping Centre manager Steven Brogan said: “Each week is themed, including fairytales, the seaside, royalty and circuses, so there’s always something different for children to enjoy here in the centre, with suggestions for what they can continue to make at home.
“As a dad, I know how hard it can be to find free activities that keep young children occupied during the summer holidays, and which are easy for parents to get to, on the bus or by car.
“The free craft workshops, which include all the materials that the children need, are led by fully qualified staff who will encourage those taking part to develop their artistic skills.
“I hope these Shopper Whopper Kid’s Club activities will spark the imagination of those taking part and I’m looking forward to seeing what our young visitors create at each session.”
The drop-in sessions include
July 26: Decorate wooden spoon characters from favourite childhood story books
August 2: Join in the fun by decorating ceramic beach hut coin banks
August 9; Create a circus mask and decorate rubber ducks as well as joining in a game of hook-a-duck
August 16: Join royalty by decorating either a princess mask and wand, or a knight mask and sword
August 23: Make mermaid peg dolls and decorate treasure boxes with stickers and feathers
August 30: Get ready to return to school by personalising a wooden pencil case or drawstring bag.
